Hello. I’ve always been fascinated by famous pictures and the stories behind them. I started out this project as a book concept and I tried to submit the idea to a number of publishers but no luck.
Plan B was this webpage. Managing a number of contributors we’ve tried to document dozens of iconic images. We tried to set up a community with a separate wiki site in hopes that we can have everyday users propose, and explain images that they think are iconic. However, there was a big setback with this approach when we were hit by Spam attacks against the open Wiki platform. We’re trying to adapt technology around this but for the moment the Famous People Collection is in read-only mode.
