Around 2004 this video made the rounds over the internet. The video supposedly has a group of kayakers out on the ocean when all of a sudden a giant Orca jumps out of the water and crushs one of the kayakers. (The capsized kayaker resurfaces at the end of the clip and, apparently unharmed, rights his craft.)

Regis fait...

The video orginally had a french title, "Regis fait du kayak". The Regis series of videos is based on a common french joke, meaning Regis the simple jerk who never manages to do anything right. There are several variations that circulate the internet like:

Fake?

Experienced kayakers were suspicious right as it's very hard to hold down a kayak that long. As even if a kayak is held under a few seconds by a huge wave they shoot to the surface like a missle not slowly rising like in the video. Also Killer Whales are huge animals and if that was a glancing blow it should have sommersaulted the kayak not submerged it, if it was a full on hit the paddler would have been crushed and boat would have been deformed.

Soon it emerged that the video was commisioned by Powerade as a Korean-language commercial[1]. The footage is actually taken from a documentry about the cruelity of Aquariums, called Lolita Slave to Entertainment, and altered to add digital kayakers.

It's part of a Korean-language version of a commercial for Powerade energy drink (a product of the Coca-Cola Company). Powerade is noted for producing commercials using a variety of tricky visual effects to depict athletes accomplishing seemingly impossible feats of strength and skill (to the accompaniment of breathless narration by on-the-spot announcers), and this kayak commercial is yet another example of that genre.[1]

Translation

The video is created as though it is being filmed by amateur camerman like a tourist out with his family whale watching. As such there is voices in the backgroud and the video is narrated by one mature Korean-male who screams his amazement at the events unfolding. He can be translated as saying:
